The provisions contained in [Chapter XXXIII of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974)], regarding bail so far as they are applicable, shall apply mutatis mutandis in respect of persons arrested or detained or brought before a Court under the provisions of this Act, subject to the modification that for the expression “officer in-charge of a Police Station” wherever occurring the expression “an [Excise and Taxation Officer] not below the rank of an Inspector” shall be deemed to have been substituted.
