1. संषिप् त नात औि प्रािंग- (1) इस आिहश क वनस् पषत सं ि ि (गाित त आयात का षवषनयतन) (पांचवां संश िन) आिहश, 2017 कहा जाए ा।
(2) यह सिकािी िाजपर त प्रकाशन की तािीत सह प्रगावी ह ा।
2. वनस् पषत सं ि ि (गाित त आयात का षवषनयतन) आिहश, 2003 कह अध् याय-2 त , तंड-9 (1 औि 3) सह संबंषित वतातान प्रषवष टयां षनम् नषलषतत प्रषवष टयक सह प्रषतस् र्ाषपत की जाएं ी, अर्ाात:
‘ 9. इतािती लकडी औि लकडी/बासं कह उत् पािक का आयात :
(1) इतािती लकडी औि लकडी/बांस उत् पाि का क ई गी पािहिण म गाित त तब तक नहल लाया जाए ा जब तक ासा पािहिण म षनम् नषलषतत शततों क पिूा न किता ह , अर्ाात:-
(i) अनुसूची-VI कह अंत ात सूचीबद्ध इतािती लकडी औि लकडी/बांस प्रजाषत कह अषतरित त ासह ककसी पािहिण म का गाित त आयात तब तक नहल ककया जाए ा जब तक वह तंड 3(7) कह उपबंिक क पूिा न किता ह ।
(ii) छाल सषहत अर्वा छाल िषहत इतािती लकडी औि लकडी/बांस कह षनयाात सह पूवा उसका 48 जी/एत3 षतर्ाइल ब्र ताइड सह 21 स टीग्रहड या उससह अषिक या उसकह सतकि तापतान पि प्रिूतन ककया जाए ा या वनस् पषत संििण म सलाहकाि द्वािा षवषिवत रूप सह अनुत कित क ई अन्द य उपचाि ककया जाए ा औि उस उपचाि क षनयाातकताा िहश त उसकह पािप स् वच् छता प्रताण म पर त पृ ांककत ककया जाए ा। 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(ii)]

1. Short title and Commencement.—(1) This Order may be called the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Fifth Amendment) Order, 2017.

(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In Chapter II of Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003, the existing entries relating to clause 9(1 & 3) shall be replaced with the following entries, namely:- ‘9. Import of Timber and Wood/Bamboo products:
(1) No consignment of timber and wood/bamboo products shall be brought into India unless such consignment fulfils the following conditions, namely:-
(i) No consignment of timber and wood/bamboo species other than those listed under Schedule-VI shall be imported into India unless the provisions of Clause 3(7) are fulfilled.
(ii) the timber and wood/bamboo with or without bark shall be fumigated prior to export with methyl bromide at 48 g/m 3 for 24 hrs at 21 o C or above or equivalent thereof or any other treatment duly approved by the Plant Protection Adviser and the treatment shall be endorsed on the Phytosanitary Certificate issued thereof at the country of export;
(iii) the timber or sawn or sized wood with or without bark prior to export shall be either fumigated as above or kiln dried at 56 0 C for 30 minutes (core temperature of wood) or heat treated at 56 0 C for 30 minutes (core temperature of wood) and the treatment shall be endorsed on the Phytosanitary Certificate issued thereof at the country of export.
(iv) Wood/Bamboo based products such as manufactured/ finished/ handicrafts/ furniture/ joinery and articles from carpentry (windows/doors/ shutters/photo frames/ curtain rods/boxes/ thatch etc)/ conveyances (row boats, vehicle decks, trailers etc)/ garden items/house hold articles/ musical instruments/ sporting equipments/ tools/toys/flower vase/ wood fiber/ woody dry branches without bark/ cones/baskets etc/., shall be fumigated/treated prior to manufacturing/crafting/ finishing process etc., with methyl bromide at 48 g/m 3 for 24 hrs at 21 o C or above at NAP or kiln dried or heat treated at 56 0 C for 30 minutes (core temperature of wood) or Gamma irradiation at 25 kGray or equivalent thereof or any other treatment duly approved by the Plant Protection Adviser and the treatment shall be endorsed on the Phytosanitary Certificate issued thereof at the country of export;
(2) The containerized cargo of timber or sawn/sized wood without bark and wood/bamboo based products shall be inspected by an authorized Plant Quarantine Officer after unloading of the containers from the ship at the port of Container Freight Station or Inland Container Depots under the jurisdiction of concerned Plant Quarantine Station.’
3. Amendment of Schedule VI.- In the Schedule VI to the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003-
(i) Against Serial No. 38 relating to “Asparagus officinalis (Asparagus)” in column 3 against the entry (iii) for the category ‘vegetables for consumption’ after the existing entries (iii) and the entries relating thereto in columns (4), (5) and (6), the following item and entries shall respectively be inserted, namely:
(ii) Against serial number 184, relating to Juglans spp. (Walnut), in column (3), against entry (ii) for the category ‘Dry fruits for consumption(shelled and unshelled)’ after item (v) and the entries relating thereto in columns (4), (5) and (6), the following item and entries shall respectively be inserted, namely Country of origin Additional declarations required to be incorporated into Phytosanitary certificate Special conditions of import

Quarantine weed seeds, soil and plant debris The commodity shall be washed with clean water before packing.
The above condition shall be endorsed on phytosanitary certificate issued at the country of origin/re-export.

(iii) Against serial no.310, relating to Triticum spp.(Wheat) in column (3), the entry shall be re-numbered as item (i) thereof and after item (i) as so re-numbered and the entries relating thereto in columns(3), (4), (5) and (6), the following item and entries shall respectively be inserted namely:- Category of plant material Country of origin Additional declarations required to be incorporated into Phytosanitary Certificate Special conditions of import
