I '. ,'r-.2.r*q.{ TTIE GA.NTTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY tPeir II---Src. 3(ii)l2 MIMSTRY OF AGRICULTURE (Deprrtmcnt of Agriculture rnd Co-operation) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 3lst December, 2008 S.O. 3005(E).- Whereas, the Central-Govemment, in exercise of the Powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 27 of tb Insecticides Act 1968 (46 of 1968) published a draft Order for declaring its inteution to prohibit the use of Dazomet in tea vide notification of the Govemment of India in the Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Agricultue and Cooperation) number S.O. l7g2 (E) dated the 23'd October, 2007, and invited objections and suggestions ftom all persons likely to be affected thereby, till the expiry of a period of forty five days from the date on which copies of ttre official Gazene in which the said notification was published were made available to the public;
And whereas, copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on the 26fi day ofOctober 2007;
And whereas, the objection received in respect of the said draft Order was duly considered by the Central Govemment;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub'section (2) of section 27 read with section 28 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968), the Central Govemment hereby makes the following Order, namely:- ORDER I . This Order may.be called the Restriction on Use of Dazomet Order, 2008.
2 . Use of Dazomet is not permitted on tea-

And whereas tle Central Governmen! after considering the recommendations of the said Expert Group and after consultation with the Registration Committee, set up under the said Act is satisfied that the use of Iprodione involves health hazards to human beings and environment;
The Draft Order, which the Central Government proposes to make, is hereby published for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said Draft Order shall be taken into consideration after expiry ofa period of forty-five days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette of India containing the Order are made available to the public.
Any suggestion or objection in respect of the said Draft Order may be forwarded to the Central Govemment within the period so specified to the Joint Secreta-ry (Plant Protection), Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi-l 10 001.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 27 read with section 28 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968), the Central Government hereby proposes to make the following Order, namely:
