Section 39: Method of payment of claims outside India

Subject to the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, or any other law for the time being in force, all remittances to persons resident outside India shall be made through the Reserve Bank of India by Mail Transfer or Telegraphic Transfer for credit of the party's account in the Bank named by the party:

Provided that, in cases where the amount remitted has to be paid to a person residing in the United Kingdom, such payment shall be made through the Official Agent in London of the Administrators-General in India by means of a Mail or Telegraphic Transfer Order on the State Bank of India, London.
