Section 3: Power to direct registration of births and deaths

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Births and Deaths Registration Regulation, 1950.Regulations · 1950

(l) The Chief Commissioner may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct that all births and deaths, or all births or all deaths, occurring within the limits of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands or in any local area thereof after such date as may be specified in the notification shall be registered in the proscribed manner.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Chief Commissioner may, by notification in the Official Gazette, exempt from the operation of all or any of the provisions contained in this Regulation any tribe or tribal community or any part of, or group within, any tribe or tribal commu-
