(c) "committee" means the governing body of a co-operative society, by whatever name called, to which the management of the affairs of the society is entrusted;
(d) "co-operative society" means a society registered or deemed to be registered under this Regulation;

(i) to the amount, if any, unpaid on the shares respectively . "5;

(i) a banking company as defined in . section . 5 of the Banking ..>% A Regulation Act, 1949; 10of 1949. -2 a .:z 43
(ii) the State Bank of India constituted under section 3 of .% the State Bank of India Act, 1955;
(iii) a subsidiary bank as defined in section 2 of the State Bank of India (Subsidiary Banks) Act, 1959; 38 of 1950.
(iv) the Agricultural Refinance Corporation established under section 3 of the Agricultural Refinance Corporation Act, 1963; and 10of 1963. :
( v ) a corresponding new bank constituted under section 3 .of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970; 5 of 1970.
(h) "Government" means the Central Government;
(i) "member" ineans a person joining in the application for the registration of a co-operative society and a person admitted to membership after such registration in accordance with this Regulation, the rules and the bye-laws, and includes a nominal or an associate SEC. 11 THE GAYE'I'TE O F INDIA EXTRAORDINARY --- - - ---- - 5 1 .- - - - -- -- .----
(k) "officer" includes a president, vice-president, chairman, vicevhairman, managing director, secretary, manager, member of a committee, treasurer, liquidator, administrator and any other person empowered under the rules or bye-laws to give directions in regard to the business of a co-opxatlve society;
(I) "Official Gazette" means the Andaman and Nico5ar Gazette;
(m) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Regulation;
(n) "producers' society" means a society formed with the object of producing and disposing of goods and commodities as a collective property of its members, and includes a society formed with the object of the collective disposal of the labour of its members;
(0) "Registrar" means a. person appointed to perform the duties of a Registrar of Co-operative Societies under this Regulation, and includes any person appointed to assist the Registrar when exercising all or any of the powers of the Registrar under sub-section (2) of section 3;
(p) "rules" means the rules made under this Regulation;
(q) "Union territory" means the Union territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
