Section 6: Power of Tahsildar and Collector - The Tahsildar and the Collector shall have the powers of a civil court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, in respect of the following matters, namely

(a) summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;

(b) requiring the discovery and production of any document;

(c) receiving evidence on affidavits;

(d) requisitioning any public record or copy thereof from any court or office;

(e) issuing commissions for the examination of witnesses or documents;

(f) any other matter which may be prescribed.

7. Supply of copies of Orders of Transfer or grant of pattas to Village Officers - The village karnam or patwari shall be supplied with a copy of every order made under section 3, section 4, 5[section 5 or section 5-A] for effecting, in the manner prescribed, necessary changes in the revenue records maintained by him.

8. Power to exempt land or class of land - The Government may, by general or special order and for reasons to be recorded therein, exempt any land or class of land from all or any of the provisions of this Act.
