246. Application for Registration ;- (I) Application for registrution of a brand name and label referred to in sub-rule (1) rule 245, shall be made to the Excise Commissioner OJ1C' month before the IMFL is manufactured and application for renewal of I he certificate of registration Ior any year shall bc made 10 the Excise Commissioner one month before expiry of validity, (2) An application referred to in sub-rule (1) shall contain the following particulars, namely :._-
(a) the brand name the alcoholic strength of the LM I· L and the measure in litres it is proposed to be sold;
(b) the country of origin of the liquor:
(c) the name and ac..l;ir(!.;s of the distiller, comp.iundcr. blender and brewar and in respect of foreign liquor bottled ill India, the name and address of the bottlcr ; <Inti (Iii the date or manufacture and expiry in case of canned beer, and shall be accompanied by two copies of label corresponding to the brand and containing particulars mentioned ill clauses (a), (h.1 and (e)
(e) the label> shall be authenticated by the applicant with h.s dated s ign.uurc in full.
247, Mainteaancc of records by Commisaioner (If lxcise : The Excise Commissioner shall maintain an up-Io-date record of all brand names label registered under these rules with and indication as to whether the registration is in respect of manufacture or sale of the IMFL.
