Section 2: Definitions

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,

(a) 'Act' means theArunachal Pradesh Medical Council Act, 2004 (Act, 4 of2004),

(b) 'Council' means theArunachal Pradesh Medical Council constituted under section 3 of theAct;

(c) 'Employees of the Council' means persons appointed including Registrar under sub-section (I) of section 5 and section 6 of the Act to carry out the purposes of the Act;

(d) 'Member' means amember elected or nominated under section 3, 4 and sub-section ( 1) ofsection 5 of the Act;

(e) 'Ministerial Staff' means the Section Officer / Superintendent, Accountant, Clerk, Stenographer, Computer Operator, Group-D staffetc. appointed under section 5 of theAct;

(f) 'President' means the President of the Council elected or nominated under sub-section (1) (b) of section 3 and sub-section (2) of section 4 of theAct;

(g) 'Vice-President' means the Vice-President of the Council elected or nominated under sub-section (I)

(b) of section 3 and sub section (3) of the section 4 of theAct;

(h) 'Registrar' means theRegistrar of theCouncil who shall be the ex-officio Secretary;

(i) 'Medicine' means themodern scientific system of medicine and includes surgery and obstetrics but does not include veterinary medicine or veterinary surgery or the Homeopathic or theAyurveda or the Siddha or the Unani system of medicine and the expression 'medicine' shall be construed accordingly;

j) 'Practitioner' or 'medical practitioner' means aperson who is engaged in thepractice ofmodern scientific system of medicine and all its branches and has qualifications as prescribed in the First, Second or Third Schedule to the IndianMedical Council Act, 1956(102 0f 1956).
