(1) If, in the opinion of the Deputy Commissioner or any officer authority by him in this behalf, the execution of any order or resolution of a Gram Panchayat or an[***] or a Zilla Parishad or the doing of an act which is about to be done or is causing or is likely to cause injury or annoyance to the pub! ic or to lead to a breach of the peace or is unlawful, he may, by order in writing, suspend the execution of the at order or resolution or prohibit the doing of that act.
(2) When the Deputy Commissioner or the officer makes an order under sub-section ( 1) he shall forthwith send to the Gram Panchayat or the [***] or the Zilla Parishad affected thereby a copy of the order together with a statement of the reasons Default in per formance of Panchayat, [***] and Zilla Parishad member, officer etc.

(3) The Deputy Commissioner or the officer shall also forthwith submit to the Government a report of the circumstances in which the order was made under this section and the Government may, after giving notice to the Gram Panchayat or the[***] or Zilla Parishad and making such inquiry as be deems fit, rescind, modify or confirm the order,
