Section 12: Acquisition of protected monuments

The Assam Ancient Monuments and Records Act, 1959State Act of Assam · Act 25 of 1959

If the State Govern­ ment apprehends that a protected monument is in danger of being destro­ yed, injured, misused, or allowed to fall into decay, it may ac:quire the pro­ tected monument under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Act I of 1894) as if the m:i.intenance of the protected monument were a public purpose within the meaning 0f that Act.
