(t) The Deputy Speaker shall be entitled to a free furnished residence, with grounds appurtenant thereto, maintained at public expense in Shillong throughout the year, or at any other place, which the State Government may, from time to time for the purpose of this Act, declare to be the headquarters of Government, or at a place where the Assam Legislative Assembly meets or in lieu of such free furnished residence Rupees one hundred and fifty per mensem.

(it) The State Government may for the purpose of this Act define by rules the expression ‘maintained a t public expense’ in relation to residence.
