Section 2: Definition

The Assam Fixation of Ceiling on Land Holdings Rules, 1957State Rules of Assam · 1957

In these rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or contexta) the "Act" means the Assam Fixat ion of Ceiling on Land Holdings Act. 1956;

b) ' Section" means a Section of the Act;

c) "excess land" means land held by a person in excess of the limit fixed under Section 4; .

d) all words and expressions used in these,rules and not defined herein but defined in the Act shall respectively have the meanings assigned to them in the Act;

e) "Planted area" means the area under special cultivation of tea as on 24th March, 1971.

f) "The Estate" means the whole of the area ofland commonly knwon as Tea Estate which is owned or held under any grant or lease, by any person and so registered with the Tea Board constituted under the Tea Act, 1953.
