(s) *Sta(o Govcmmsnt" meahs the Governtnent of Assam;

The Chancellor, the Vice Chanccllor, the Prc-Vice Chancellor and the mernbers ofthe Court, thc Exccutive Council, and the Acadermic Counci{so long as they continue to hold such off:ce or membership shall constitute a body corporate by the name of "The Madhabdev Universigl". The University shall have perpetual successiort and a common seal, and shall sue and be sued by that name. From the date of coming into force of this Act. the existing Madhabdev College shall be deeined to have been upgraded to Madlrabdev Univcrsity. All aspects of teaching and research shall be discussed in and decided by the University. From the date of cornmsilcement of this Act, tlre existing proPer{y, land and buildlngs of liladhabdev College shall vest with the Madhabdev University. i
