Section 23: Obligation to assist

The Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1947State Act of Assam · Act 23 of 1947

(1)_ Any person shall, upon notice being given or request made, be legally bound to assist an officer acting under this Chapter in carrying out the provisions of this Act.

(2) Any person contravening the provisions of sub-section (1) s~all be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, .

or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.
