Section 3: Prohibition

The Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1947State Act of Assam · Act 23 of 1947

No person shallfor-

(a) import, export, transport or possess opium ;

(b) sell or buy opium ;

(c) consume opium;

(d) use or keep any material, utensil, implement or apparatus :whatsoever

(i) the manufacture of any opium smoking preparation or any drink containing opium,

(ii) smoking opium,

(iii) weighing opium, or

(iv) preserving opium.
