GOVERNMENT OF ASSAM ORDERS BY THE GOVERNOR PANCHAYAT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (A) DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATION The 16th February, 2002 No. PDA. 1/2002/35.—In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of the Section 141 of the Assam Panchayat Act, 1994 the Governor of Assam is pleased to notify the Assam Panchayat (constitution) Amendment Rules 2002 as appended herewith for general information.

Provided further that office of the Vice President ofZilla Parishad shall be reserved in the same manner as prescribed Tor reservation of the office of the President ofZilla Parishad as laid down under Rule - 8 (2) of these Rules.

Provided that office of the Vice President ofZilla Parishad shall not be reserved for die person belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes in which the office of the President ofZilla Parishad has already been reserved for Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes community.

Such reservation of the offices of Vice President ofZilla Parishad shall be done with die highest number of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes population as the case may be. in descending order after excluding the Zilla Parishad in which the office of (he President has already been reserved on die basis of highest number of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes population”.
