Section 20: The Executive Council shall consists of

(1) The Chief Secretary, Govt. of Assam : Chairman;

(2) Senior most Secretary of Higher Education Department, Government of Assam : Vice-Chairman;

(3) The Director of the Council : Member Secretary;

(4) Secretary to the Govt. of Assam (Higher/Technical) Education : Member;

(5) The Chief Engineer, P.W.D.(Building), Assam : Member;

(6) Director of Higher Education, Assam : Member;

(7) Director of Technical Education, Assam : Member;

(8) Director of Medical Education, Assam : Member;

(9) Director, Secondary Education, Assam : Member;

(10) Director, Elementary Education, Assam : Member;

(11) Four academicians of repute to be nominated for a period of three years by Government : Members;

(12) One of the Joint Secretary / Deputy Secretary/Under Secretary, Education Department, Government of Assam : Member;

(13) Two members to be co-opted by the Executive Council in its first meeting from amongst the Educationists / Academicians /Experts in the field of Higher Education.
