Section 6: (1) The Council consists of three bodies, namely

(a) General Council :

This is the plenary body of the Council headed by Hon'ble Chief Minister, Assam;

(b)Executive Council : This is a high-power, body under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Assam;

Directorate This is the operational body which shall be Headed by the Director of the Council.

(a) Chairman, General Council

(b) Vice-Chairman, General Council (c ) Chairman, Executive Council : Hon'ble Chief Minister, Assam;

: Hon'ble Minister in Charge of the Higher Education, Assam;

: Chief Secretary, Assam, Government of Assam.
