Section 22: Obligation of persons to maintain and repair works

(1) Every person or agency shown in the statement prepared under section 14 shall maintain or repair any work on his own land or any other land in respect of which he is shown is liable in the said statement to the satisfaction of the Agency.

(2) If any person or agency fails to maintain or repair the work within the time fixed the agency shall get the work maintained or repaired by its own agency or by the panchayat samiti or through any other agency and costs thereof shall be recovered from the persons or agency liable to maintain or repair as public dues under the Public Demands Recovery Act, 1914.
