In these rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context :-_
(a) ..4.t" means the Factories Act, 1948.
(b) ..Appendix" means an appendix appended to these rules.
(c) "Artificial Humidification" means the introduction of moisture into the air of a room !I anV artificial means whatsoever, except the ulavoidable escape of steam or water vapour into the atmosihere directly due to a manufacturing process :

',Bett" includes any driving strap or rope.
"Degrees" (of temperature) means degrees on the Fahrenheit scale.
"Exaqrining surgeon" means a qualified medical practitioner autho.
rised by a certifying surgeon under sub-sectionizl of section I0 of the Act to exercise any of the powers of such certifying Surgeon under the Act.
.'Form" means a frlrm appended to these-rules.
.'Fume" includes gas or vapour.
"Health officer" means the Municipal Health officer or District Health officer or such other offcial as msy be appointed by the State Goverrment in that behalf.
Hyg-rometer'o means an accurate wet and dry bulb hygrometer conforTing to the prescribed conditions as regard conilructions and maintenance.
{k) "rnspector" means an officer appointed under section g of the Act and includes ..Chief fnspector,'.
(l) "Mglntained" means maintained in an efficient state, in effcient working order and in good repair.
