Section 13: Investigation officer to inquire on direction of Lokayukta

(1) The Lokayukta may, before holding any inquiry under this Act, by an order, require the Investigation Officer of its Investigation Wing to make, or cause to be made, a preliminary investigation in such manner as it may direct and submit a report to the Lokayukta, within such time as may be specified by the Lokayukta, to enable it to satisfy itself as to whether or not the matter requires to be inquired into by the Lokayukta.

(2) The Investigation Officer on receipt of an order under sub‐section (1) shall complete the investigation and submit his report within the time specified under that sub‐section.
