Maternity Benefit.— Amount of grant payable after delivery of first two child of the registered female construction worker on the basis of ‘Birth Certificate’ of child or the ‘Certificate issued by the Hospital’ for the same, is enhanced from Rs. 1000/-(Rupees One thousand) to Rs. 10,000/-(Rupees Ten thousand). This grant will be additional to the grant of the Health, Social Welfare Department, or any other Department of Government of Bihar.
(ii). Pension— As notified earlier, under Atal Pension Scheme, the Board would pay premium amount of Rs. 1200/-(Rupees One thousand two hundred) for registered Construction Workers between the age group of 18 years and 40 years. However, for those construction workers who get registered in Board after attaining the age of 40 years, will get a pension amount of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One thousand) per month after attaining 60 years of age. Earlier the pension amount for these workers were Rs. 150/- (Rupees One hundred fifty) per month.

(iii). Disability Pension—The amount of Pension is enhanced from Rs. 150/-(Rupees One Hundred Fifty) per month to Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand) per month for those registered construction workers who are permanently disabled due to paralysis, leprosy, T.B, or accident etc. One time grant is enhanced from Rs.
5000/-(Rupees Five Thousand) to Rs. 75,000/- (rupees Seventy Five Thousand) in case of permanent disablement and onetime grant of Rs. 50,000/-(Rupees Fifty thousand) is provisioned in case of permanent partial disablement.
(iv). Death Benefit—The amount of grant provided to dependent of registered construction workers, in case of the ‘Natural Death’, is enhanced from Rs.
15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) to Rs. 1,00,000/-(Rupees One Lakh) and in case of ‘Accidental Death’, the amount of grant is enhanced from Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand) to Rs. 4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakh). But if ‘Accidental Death’ occurs due to any disaster and the grant is already sanctioned by the Disaster Management Department, in such case, only Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) will be sanctioned by the Board.
(v). Cash Award— The Cash award of Rs. 1000/-(Rupees One Thousand), Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred Fifty) and Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred), which was provisioned for the sons and daughters of three registered Construction Workers in every District for scoring highest marks in Matric Examination conducted by Bihar School Examination Board, is enhanced to Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand), 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) and Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) respectively. For this purpose, the selection for cash award will be based on the applications (regarding obtaining highest marks) received in the District Labour Office.
(vi). Medical Assistance to the Beneficiaries—For such registered Construction Workers who did not receive financial assistance from “Mukhya Mantri Sahayata Kosh” for the treatment of chronic diseases, will be entitled for medical assistance from the Board. The medical assistance will be equivalent to the assistance provisioned in the resolution no. 2353(14) dated- 12.09.2006, and resolution memo no.-752(14), dated- 26.06.2015 of Health Department, Government of Bihar. The process for obtaining this grant will be same as the process adopted for obtaining grant under “Bihar Shatabadi Asangathit Karyakshetra Kamgar and Shilpkaar, Samajik Suraksha Yojna 2011” .
(vii). Financial Assistance for Education—If the Sons/Daughters of registered construction workers get admitted in IIT/IIM/AIIMS or such premiere Government Institute of National level, Board will pay the total tuition fees of such wards. In addition to this, it is also provisioned that Board will pay Rs.
20,000/-(Rupees Twenty Thousand) at a time of admission in any of the Government Institution, in India for studying in B.Tech. or equivalent Courses;
Rs. 10,000/-(Rupees Ten thousand) for studying in Polytechnic/Nursing or equivalent diploma courses in Government institution situated in the State of Bihar; and Rs. 5000/-(Rupees Five thousand) for studying in Government ITI or equivalent Courses.
(viii). Financial Assistance for Marriage—Amount of grant for the financial assistance for the marriage of two adult daughters of registered construction workers or of registered female construction workers themselves, having 3 years of continuous membership, is enhanced from Rs. 2000/-(Rupees Two Thousand) to Rs. 50,000/-(Rupees Fifty Thousand). But this benefit could not be availed in case of re-marriage of construction workers. This scheme is in addition to the schemes which are provisioned for encouragement of inter cast marriages.

(i). Grant for the Repair of House—Registered Construction worker having continuous membership of 3 years will be entitled for grant of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand) which will be paid once in the whole period of membership. However, registered construction workers who have already availed this benefit under ‘Grant for House Construction/Repair and purchase of Tools & Bicycle’ are not entitled for this grant.
(ii). Grant for Purchase of Bicycle—Eligible beneficiaries will be entitled to purchase bicycle through Camps which will be organized in every District. In these Camps beneficiaries will be provided Coupon of maximum Rs. 4000/- (Rupees Four thousand) for purchasing bicycle from the agencies who fulfill the basic equipments and specification determined by the Board. Since this benefit will be provided to registered construction workers only once in the whole period of membership, and hence those registered construction workers, who have already availed this benefit would not be entitled for the same.
(iii). Grant for purchase of Tools—It is provisioned that registered construction workers who have completed their training provided by Board for skill development will be equipped with tools related with their trade costing maximum Rs. 15000/-(Rupees Fifteen Thousand).
In all the above Schemes, Chairman of Board is authorized to issue orders regarding the process of applying for grants and sanctioning authority of schemes.
Other conditions in respect of the above schemes, which are defined in the Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) Rules, 2005 and Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) (Amendment) Rules, 2016 will remain same.
The provision of Sub Rules (1) and (2) of the Rules 267 of Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) (Amendment) Rules 2016 of contribution of Rs. 0.50/- (Fifty paise) per month of registered construction workers will also cover such construction workers who have lost their membership due to the discontinued payment of contribution, subject to the condition that breakage in their membership is not more than twice.
