Section 8: Punishment for escape from work house, special home or certified home

Bihar prevention of Beggary Act, 1951State Act of Bihar · Act 1 of 1952

whoever escapes from a work house, special home or a certified home to which he has been committed on conviction under the provisions of this Act before the expiry of the period for which he has been committed. If he is of more than sixteen years of age, shall be punished with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees or with imprisonment which may extend to three months.

Provided that if the person is below the age of sixteen, he shall be punished with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees or with imprisonment which may extend to six months.
