Section 2: Definitions

In these Rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context-

(a) "The Act" means the Bihar Prevention of Beggary Act, 1951;

(b) "Chief Inspector" means a person appointed by the State Government to be the Chief Inspector of all Certified Homes, Special Homes and Work Houses in the State either established and maintained by the State Government or declared as such under Section 10;

(c) "Form" means a Form appended to these Rules;

(d) "Section" means a section of the Act;

(e) "Superintendent" means the Superintendent incharge of a Certified Home, Special Home of a Work House and includes any other person empowered in this behalf by the Superintendent to discharge his functions; and

(f) all words and expressions used in these Rules and not defined but defined in the Act shall respectively have the same meanings as assigned to them in the Act.
