Section 25: Deductions which may be made from wages

Bihar Shops & Establishments Act, 1953State Act of Bihar · Act 8 of 1954

No deductions other than those which may be prescribed shall be made by the employer from the wages of this employee.

Comments & Case-law [ Where there is a dispute between the employer and employee on the period of leave : the payment of leave salary for the period by the employer as per his stand does not amount to deduction from wages. The employee is not entitled to any compensation in such a case. Ram Narayan Misra v. D. Das & Bros., 1980 Lab. IC 75.]
