(1) The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything inconsistent therewith contained in any other law for the time being in force, of any customs or usages having the force of law or contract or judgment, decree or order of the court or any other authority.
(2) The procedure for survey and settlement as laid down in the Bihar Tenancy Act,1885, The Bihar Survey and Settlement Manual, 1959 Technical Rules and The Bihar Tenants’ Holdings (Maintenance of Records) Act, 1973 shall be deemed to be superseded, modified or supplemented, as the case may be, by the provisions of this Act, Rules and Manual made hereunder and guidelines issued from time to time to give effect to the provisions of this Act.
Explanation.- Earlier Survey & Settlement proceedings carried out under the appropriate law for the time being in force, shall not be construed to be illegal, to any extent, after coming into force of this Act.
