Section 61: Composition of General and Petty Security Force Courts

(1) A court shall consist, as far as practicable, of officers of different battalions 2[or units].

(2) The members of a court for the trial of an officer shall be of a rank not lower than the rank of that officer, unless in the opinion of the convening officer, officers of such rank are not, having due regard to the exigencies of public service, available.

Such opinion shall be recorded in the convening order.

(3) A court for the trial of a Commandant, shall as far as possible, consist of officers who are or have been commandants or who hold, or have held, a higher appointment.
