(!) The ballot paper shall be pri 11 ted j n Form VIII in English or in the official language or in the language commonly used in the State or both, and shall indicate the names and symbols of contesting candi dates.
(2) Each ballot paper shall be serially numbered on 1ts IJack:
Provtded that a tendered ballot paper referred to in rule 42 shall he printed on a paper of different colour which .'iha] l hear a serial number of its own.
(3) The names of the candidates shall be arranged in the same order in which they appear in the list of candi dates contesting the election published under rule 31.
( 4) _1 f two or more candidates bear the same name, they shall he distinguished by the addition of their occu patiOn or residence or in some other manner.
(5) The candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes or women shall be distin gu shed by placing the letter "S" or "W"circumscribed by a cm:lc against their names.
~~ ~. Prohibition of canvassing in or near polling sta tion.-( I) No person shall- (a; convene, !told, attend, join or address any pub lic meeting or procession in cunnection with an election; or
(h) display to the public, any election matter by means of cinematograph, television or other simi br apparatus; or
(c) propagate any election matter to the public by holdmg, or by arranging the holding of, any mu,:;ical concert or any theatrical performance or any other entertainment or .amusement wlth a view to attracting the members of the public thereto;
in any polling area during the period of forty eight h()u;-s ending with the hour fixed for the conclusion ollhe poll for any election in that polling area.

(3) No person shall on the date on which a poll is taken at any polling station-
(a) use or operate within or at the entrance of the polling station or in public or private places in the neighbourhood thereof, any apparatus for amplifying or reproducing of human voice, such as a megaphone or a loudspeaker; or
(b) shout or otherwise act in a disorderly manner within or at the entrance of the polling station or in any public or pUblic places in the neighbourhood thereof, So as to cause annoyance to any person visit ing the polling station for poll, or as to interfere with the work of the officers and other persons on duty at the polling station.·
(4) Any person who contravenes any of the provi sions of this rule shall, on conviction, he punishable with fine whiCh may extend to rupees one thousand.
