The Returning Officer shall, immediately after the declaration qf the results of poll. forward to the Chief Executive Officer--
(i) the sealed packets referred to in sub-rule (2) of rule 47.
(ii) the empty ballot boxes and tlieir keys, if any,
(iii) tlie lisL' of articles referred to in clause (ii) of sub-rule (3) of rule 47 received by him from the Polling Officers,
(iv) account of ballot papers and tendered ballot papers referred to in clause (ii) of sub-rule (3) of rule47,
(v) the sealed packets referred to in sub-rule (8) of rule49.
(vi) all unopened cover in Form VIII-C referred to in sub-rule (2) of rule 50 enclosed in a sealed packet, the contents thereof being marked outside.
(viii) tlie sealed packets referred to in sub-rules (5).
(6) and (13) of rule 50.

Custody and preservation of ballot boxes and papcts.-{ l) The Chief Executive Officer shall preserve for <l pcripd of one year all article sent to him under rule 52 after which, unless the President sees good reason to the cqntrary, he shall, except for the ballot boxes, destroy them
(2) While in custody of the ChtefExecutive Officer, the h<]llot papers (whether valid, rejected or tendered) shall not bC opened, inspected or produced anywhere except undcr:orders in v.rriting of a competent court or of the Officer cnquibng 1nto an election petition.
(3) All other documents in such custody shall be open for public inspection under th:; same conditions as other ~antonment documents which may be inspected by the ptjhlic.
