PART II—Section 1 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 25] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, MAY 23, 1989/JYAISTHA 2,1911 Separate paging is given to this Part in order that it may be filed as a separate compilation MINISTRY OF LAW AND JUSTICE (Legislative Department) New Delhi, the 23rd May, 1989/Jyaistha 2, 1911 (Saka) The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 18th May, 1989, and is hereby published for general information: — THE CENTRAL INDUSTRIAL SECURITY FORCE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1989 No. 20 OF 1989 [18th May, 1989.] An Act further to amend the Central Industrial Security Force Act, 1968. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fortieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—

1. This Act may be called the Central Industrial Security Force (Amendment) Act, 1989.

2. In the Central Industrial Security Force Act, 1968 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in the long title, after the words "other industrial undertakings", the words "and the employees of all such industrial undertakings" shall be inserted.

3. In section 8 of the principal Act, in clause (i), for the Word "suspend", the word "remove" shall be substituted. 50 of 1968.

4. In section. 10 of the principal Act, for clause (<J), the following clauses shall be substituted, namely: — "(d) to protect and safeguard the employees of the industrial undertakings and installations referred to In clauses (b) and (c);

(e) to do any other act conducive to the better protection and security of the industrial undertakings- and installations referred to in clauses (b) and (c) and the employees referred to in clause (d).".

5. In section 11 of the principal Act, in sub-section (i),—

(a) for clause (i), the following clause shall be tubstituted, namely:— , "(i) any person who Voluntarily causes hurt to, or attempts voluntarily to cause hurt to, or wrongfully restrains or attempts wrongfully to restrain or assaults, threatens to assault, or uses, or threatens or attempts to use (criminal force to any employee, referred to in clause (d) of section 10, or to "him or any other member of the Force, in discharge of his duty as such employee or in execution of his duty as such member, as the case may be, or with intent to prevent or to deter him from discharging his duty as such member, or in consequence of anything done or attempted to be done by him in the lawful discharge of nil duty as such member;";
