Every person who, at the commencement of this Act, is the tenant of any holding in respect of which he, or a person whose rights he has acquired, had been recorded in any record-of-rights made before the first day of January, 1884, as an "absolute occupancy-raiyat", or in terms equivalent thereto, shall, unless he has parted with his rights, be deemed to be an absolute occupancy-tenant of that holding.
