Section 2: Definitions

CHANDIGARH HOUSING BOARD( Officer & Servant) Regulation 2003Union territory Regulations of Chandigarh · 1971

In these regulations unless the context otherwise requires.-

(a) 'Act' means tlle Haryana Housing Board Act, 1971 (Haryana Act 20 of 1971), as extended to fue Union Territory of Chandigarh.

(b) 'Administrator' means Administrator of Union Tenitory, Chandigarh appointed under Act, 239 of the constitution.

(e) 'Administration' mecUlSChandigarh Administral ion.

(eI) 'AppOinting AuthoriLY'means the authOIity competent La make appointments and includes the authority to whom the power to 1I1Clke appointments may be clele~atecl by the Board under tlwse regulations.

Chairman' means the Chairman of the Chandigarh Housing Board, 'Departmental Promotion Committee' means a committee constituted Administration for recruitment/promotion La the Group 'A', 'B' and 'C' cat posts in the Chandigarh Housing Board.

(h)

(i) 'Government'means the Chandigarh Administration.

'Recognised University or Institution' means- •

(i) Any university or institution incorporated by law in any of the State 0:

Territories of Inida ; or

(ii) Any other university or Institution which is declared by the Central Gove or State Government to be a recognised university or institution for the 1= of recruitment to various service or,posts under its control.

OJ 'Senrice' means service in the Chandigarh Housing Board.

••3. Nationality, domicile and character of persons appointed to the Service.- person shall be appointed to the service unless he is,-

(a) A citizen of India; or

(b) A subject of Nepal; or

(c) .A subject of Bhutan; or •

(d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 wi intention of permanently settling in India; or (eJ A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan. Burma. Sri La~kc Nrican countries of Kenya, Uganda. United Republic of Tanzania (For Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Saire, Ethopia and Vietnam wi intention of permanently settling in India:

Provided that a person belonging to any of the categories i.e. (b), (c), (d), and (el sha person in whose favour a certiflcate of eligibility has been given by the Horr.'.Secl Union Territory. Chancligarh.

(ii) A person in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be adm itted examination or interview by the Chandigarh Housing Board on his furnishing proof c •• at ~ .
