Section 78: Power to investigate offences

THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2000 AmendmentUnion territory Act of Chandigarh · Act 21 of 2000

Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), a police officer not below the rank of 2 [Inspector] shall investigate any offence under this Act.
