Section 16: The upper limit of annual income of a person entitling him to legal services, if the case is before a court other than the Supreme Court

(1) In addition to the persons mentioned in clauses (a) to (g) of Section 12 of the Act, a citizen of India whose annual income form all sources does not exceed one lac rupees(as per amendment 2011) shall be entitled to legal services, if the case is before a Court other than the Supreme Court.

(2) In cases where the High Court or the Supreme Court provides legal service under any order, legal service should be deemed to have been provided by an Authority of a Committee in relaxation of all the conditions laid down in these rules.
