The poll shall commence and close at the date and hours fixed by the Commission for the purpose :
Provided that :
a) all electors present at the place fixed for the poll before it is so closed shall be entitled to have their votes recorded ; and b) if for any reason, it is not possible to commence the poll at a polling station at the hours appointed or if by reason of disorder at the polling station or for any other reason, polling for a certain time has to be stopped, the Presiding Officer shall keep the polling station open for a further period equal to that which lapses between the hour appointed for the commencement of poll and the hour at which it was actually opened at the time during which the polling was stopped, as the case may be. The Presiding Officer, shall inform the Returning Officer concerned of such incidence at once who will further inform the Commission without any delay.
