Section 4: Appointment of Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers

(1) The Commission may appoint one or more Electoral Registration Officers or Assistant Electoral Registration Officers for the preparation or revision of electoral rolls, as the case may be, for the Panchayat in a sub-division.

(2) The Assistant Electoral Registration Officer can perform any or all the functions of the Electoral Registration Officer subject to the directions, superintendence and control of the Electoral Registration Officer.

(3) The Electoral Registration Officer may appoint necessary staff to assist him.
