7. :rerm of office of Chairperson and other Members :-
(i) The Chairperson shall, unless removed from his office under section 7 of the Act, hold office for a period not exce~ding three years, or till the age of si~ty-five years, whichev~ is earlier.
(2) Every.Member shall, unless removed from his office under ;ectio~ 7, hold office for a period not exceeding three years, or till the age of sixty yeais, whichever is earlier.

(j) inquire into complaints and take suo-motu notice of matters relating to- (}) Deprivation and violation of child rights,
(2) Non-implementation of laws providing for protection and deve:lopment of children,
(3) Non-compliance of policy decisions, guidelines or inStruction aimed at mitigating hard ships to and unsuring welfare of the children and to provide relief to such children or take up the issUes arising out of such:matters with appropriate authorities, and
(k) perforn, duties as are specified by the State Government relating to any such matter.
Additional Functions of ~he Commission :-The Commission shall, in addition to the functions assigned to it under rule 9, also perform the following funclions namely:-
(a) ·analyze existing law, policy and practice to assess compliance with Convention on the Rights of the Child undertak~·inquiries and produce reports on any aspect of policy or practice affect~ng_ children , ~nd comment on proposed new legislation from a child rights perspective;
(b) present to the State Government annually and at such intervals as the Commission may deem fit, reports upon the working of those safeguards;
(c) ' · undertake formal investigations wheie concern has been expressed either by children themselves or by concerned person on their behalf;
(d) ensure that lhe work of the Commission is directly i_nformed by ~he views of children in order to reflect their priorities and perspectives;
(e) . promote, respect and sCriqus consideration of the views of children in its work and in that of all Government Department and <;>rgani~tions dealing .With child;
(f) produce and disseminate information about child rights;
(g) compile and analyse data on children; and
(h) promote lhe_ incorpdration of child rights into the school curriculum, teachers training of personnel dealing with children.
I r. Headquarters of State Commission :-The Head Quarter of the State Commission shall be at Raipur.
12. Place of meeting :-The State Commission shilll ordinarly hold meeting in its office located at Raipur, bul may in its discretion hold its meetings at any other place in Chhattisgarh, if it considers it necessary·or e~pedient lo do so.
13. Periodicals of the meeting :-The Commission shall meet regularly.at its office al Raipur at such time as the Chairperson think fit. but three mont~ shall not intervence between its .last meeting and the next meeting.
_Even through the Chairperson, ·may direct to call the special meeting of the Commission for considering any necessary specified matter, on the initiative of his/her Own or one _more than one member.
14. Procedure for the disposal of complaints:- ( I) All complaints, which are received by State Commission in any- manner, shall be registered and assigned lo them a number and shall be kept before the twO members judicial bench constituted for this purpose ·for admission ordinarily no·t more than· two·weeks from the dates of its receipt, Ordinarily the complaints of following nature are not 3dmissiblc for Commission :--:
(a) in relation to lhose incidents occurred before, more than a year from piesenti~g the complaint.;
(h) in relation to such matters which are "sub-judicial'.';
(c) which are not clear without any name of disguised name;

(d) . which are insignificant nature; .
(e) which are outside the jurisdiction-of Commission.
(2) No fees stiail be payable for complaints.
(3) · Every ,omplainl should be made in Hindi or English so that Comm'ission shall be able 'to process
(4) . quickly and every efforts should be made by which the nature of the ,halter shall become complete .clear, for the reasons it made, Ne:vertheless for the convenient filing of the complaints, the commi-.
ssion may accept complaints made in any language incl~ded in English Scheduled of the constilu tion. The· Commission whenever thinks necessary. Shall have freedom to call upon the filing of affidavits, mofe information in supports of allegation.
The Commission at its discretion shall admit the c9mplainls sent by telegraph or e-mail and the complaints through fax.·

(9) The Commission on suo-motu take action·.-The Commission al its discretion may provide opportunity of personal hearing to petitio·ner or pny person on t,ehalf of petitioner and if the Gommi ssion is of 1he opinion that those other person or person should be _heard for th~ app~opriate disposal of the mauer before il and in _relation tc_> that 'Yhere·it is necCssary it may call for record and e~amine the subjects. (10) Where the investigation has heen made by a team of the Commission or any-other person, such report. - shall J.,e presented within a week of such more time; as may be permined by the Commission, from the that of its completion. In any specific matter, if th~ Commission is uf the opinion _t~n_t-investigation has not. been nfade.in·a proper way or to ascertain the truth or to enable to diSpose of that matter properly further- investigation in that matte·r is. required then, t~e Commission 8s its· discretion may direct for further invcstigalion. · · ..
