Section 76: Chemical extinguishers

(1) Chemical extinguishers of an approved type and of at least 3 gallons capacity shall be provided in such numbers as the l icensing authority may from time to t ime direct and shall be placed on brackets four feet from the ground. Directions for us ing them shall in all cases be prominently painted on the extinguisher or on a card placed over the extinguisher and the attention of the public shall be directed to them by placards legibly printed or painted and fixed immediately above them :

Provided that nothing in this rule shall apply to touring cinemas and to premises duly l icensed for use for cinematograph exhibit ion before the coming into force of these rules.

(2) Chemical extinguishers shall be renewed or well cleaned and recharged every 12 months , a record of which should be kept for inspection.
