the' State Government are please d to make the following rules for regulating all matters con nected with or ancillary to the custody of, payment of m oneys into, and the withdrawal of moneys from, the Conti ngency Fund of the State of Madhya Pradesh, namely:- THE. MADHYA PRADESH CONTINGENCY FUND RULES, 1957.

1. These Rules shall be called "The Madhya Pradesh Contingency Fund Rules, 19 57".

2. In these Rules unless th ere is anything repugMant, in the subject or context, -

4. All applications for advances from the Contingenc y Fund should be made to the Se cretary, to Government of.

Madhya Pradesh. Finance Depar tment. The applications shall give-

(1) brief particulars of the additi onal expenditure involved () the circumstances in whic h provision could not be included in the budget:

(ii) the reasons why its postponement is n ot possible;

(to) the amount required t o be advanced from the contingency fund with full cos t of the proposal for ihe year or part, of the year, as the case may be;

(v). the grant or appropriation under which provi sion will eventually have to be ma de; and 7

(vi) the particulars of the sa vings when 'expenditure on a new service ca n be met by reappropr iation of funds within the grant.

5. The order sanctioning an advance from the Contin gency Fund, which shall specify the amo unt, the grant or appropriation to which it relates and give brief part iculars by sub-heads and uhits of ap propriation of the expenditure ior meeting which it is made, shall be issued by the Finance Department as a n order of the Governor and communicated to the Admin istrative Départment concerned and to the Accountant-Genera l, Madhya Pradesh.

6.If, in any case, after the order. sanctioning an advance from the Contingency Fu nd tas been issued im accordance with rule 5 and before a ction is taken in accог dance with rule 8 or 9, if is found that the advance sa nc tioned will remain wholly:

or partly unutilised, an appli cation shall be made to the sanctioning, authority for canceling or modifying the san ction, as the.casecase 'may be.
