Access to the Intemet from laptop/ PC/ mobile device or communication .device through department's Internet connections which are made available by wired or wireless means must adhere to this policy.

IT Administrator Accentable Use of Internet &E-mail The use of Internet and e-mail facilities provided by the Depaftment shall be used for official and authorized purposes only.
I. Acceptable uses Internet & e-mail: Department's lnternet and e-mail facilities are intended for official use only in accordance with the user's work profile and related responsibilities. However, users are permitted occasional personal use of Internet and e-mail.
II. Unacceptable uses of the Internet and Internet: Department's Internet and e-mail facilities may not be used for publishing, transmitting, creating, facilitating or storing of any information which is grossly harmful, harassing, blasphemous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, libellous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, infringing any trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights, impersonates another person, or violative of any law for the time being in force.
t|I. Communications: Each user is responsible for any content including text, audio or images or any combination thereof that they search, access, use, communicate or send over the Department's Intemet and e-mail facility. No user shall send any e-mail or other communications, which may knowingly or intentionally, hides the identity of the sender.
Any messages, information or communication published or transmitted by a user to another individual outside using Department's Internet and e-mail facility are deemed to be the messages, information or communication of the Department hence all such users shall be careful while using such facilities for personal use or non-official work.
For any inappropriate use of such facilities, users shall be held solely responsible.
IV. Software: Users must not download or upload any software, code or applications from the Internet without seeking prior permission from the IT Administrator.
V. Copyright Issues: Copyrighted materials belonging to any third party other than the Department under no circumstances be published or transmitted by any user using Department Intemet and e-mail facility. Users are advised that they should respect all copyrights and may not copy, retrieve, modifu or forward copyrighted materials, except with permission of the copyright owner, or as may be permitted under the appropriate law. Each user of such facility shall observe all terms and conditions of the license agreement, under which the license to use any copyrighted work has been obtained.
VI. Use of Social Networking SiteV blogs/ twitter/ applications etc.: Users not to use their web profile pages for publishing or transmitting or commenting or disclosing information related to Department's policies, superiors, co-workers, etc.

All messages created, sen! or retrieved over the Department's emaiU Internet facility are the property of Department and should not be considered private information. Department reserves the right to access and monitor all messages and files of the user sent or received on e-mail,/lntqrnet facility provided by the Department.
YI[. Violations: Any user, who misuses lntemeU e-mail facility shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with Department's policies.
D( Applicability: This policy is applicable to all users of Department's Inte.rnet / e-mail facility.
X.
