Section 22: Termination

Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Rules, 1957State Rules of Chhattisgarh · 1957

In the event of termination of a mining lease under the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 4A, or sub-rules (8), (9) and sub-rule (10) of rule 12, or subrule (11) of rule 23, rule 24 or sub-rule (2) of rule 61 of these rules, the State Government shall have the right to enforce the performance security of the lessee to carry out protective, reclamation and rehabilitation measures in the area.

(2) The lessee shall pay any expenditure over and above the performance security incurred by the State Government, towards protective, reclamation and rehabilitation measures in the leased area of the mining lease which has been terminated.
