Section 2: Definitions

The Chhattisgarh Panchayat (Enhancement of Cess on Land Revenue and Distribution) Rules, 1999.State Rules of Chhattisgarh · 1994

In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- .

(a) "Act" means the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj Adhiniyam. J993 (No.1 of 1994);

(b) "Cess" means the cess levied under sub-section (1) and (2) of Section 74 of the Act; . \

(c) "C9de" means the Madhya Pradesh Larip Revenue Code, 1959 (No.

.20 of 1959); \

(d) "Gram Panchayat" means a: Gram Panchayat constituted under sub-section (1) of Section 100f the Act;

(e) "Janpad Panchyat" means a Jcnpad Panchayat constituted -.tnder sub-section (2) of Section 10 of the Act; __. .__. . ._ ._ . .- .

(f) "Population" means the population as ascertained at the last preceeding census of which the relevant figures have been' published by the Government of India; .

(g)"Revenueyear" means the revenue year as defined in the Madhya Pradesh Land Revenue Code 1959 (No.20 of 1959);

(h) "Section"means the Section of the Act;

(1) "Zila Panchayat" meanS the Zila Panchayat constituted under ..sub-section (3)of Section 10 of the Act.
