(3) The 011iccr- in-cl1c1rge of the Check Post mc1y detain an imals for the purpose or inspcction. compu\sPry vaccination and identification /marking e tc. for a period not exceed mg I] hours. For evcry an11nal vaccmah.:d al the check post. the animal owner shall be given a vaccination cer11lica1e in accordance \\'ilh Su:lion 9 of' 1h.:

(S) If after inspection. the o rticcr-in-charge of the check post finds that any ammal 1s sullcnng frnm any Scheduleddisease. such animal shall be detained and the concerned ins111ution shall be treated as ()uaran11nc Camp for further action.
(6) In a Quarantine Camp . Maximum quarantine period shall not exceed 14 days.
(7) The cost of examining, vaccinating and car-tagging the animals or of any other acti\·lly at IIJL· Chn:k Post or at Quarantine Camp shall be fixed by the Director. from time !Cl 1ime. and shall bc borne b~ 1hl· animal owner.
5. Powers of the officer-in-charge of the Quarantine Camp to J!ralll permits.- (I) The nrticcr-111-charge nr the Quarantine .Camp shall detain such an_imals, that :-
(i) are suffermg from any notified Scheduled Disease: or
(ii) have come 111 contact with or have been kept in the prox11ni1y of an ammal infected with a n<111licd Schedu led Disease.
(2) The o fliccr-in-chargc of the Q1.1arant inc Camp shall give an oflic"1lacknowlcdgcmcnt of the an1111ab ~o detained to the ammal owner, issued undc~ Fon11 B. as appended to these mies
(3)_ During quarantine. the animals shall be car-tagged bearing a umqu_enumher '.)ueh animals sha ll be examim:d regularly for symptoms or any Scheduled Disease. (4) The cost o f maintenance and \'a.,dnation of the animals during quarantine shall be fixed by the Dircctnr.

7. Responsibilities of thr animal uwner.-During the detention of animals at the Check Post or Quara111111v Camp, the owner shall co-operate with the . concerned authority and help in vaccinat10n. treatment and maintenance of the animals. If any mortality occurs at the Check Post or Quarantine Camp. _the ow111.:r 0r the animalshal l be fully responsible and no compensation shall be provided by the State Government.
8. Funds.- (I) The State or Central Government shall providcncccssary fu nding for sta1ionary. rcccipt ho11k .
marking tags, vaccine. medicines, feed, fodder, utensils. equipments. transportation. labour charges and othc1 miscellaneous expenditures during the quarantine period. for effective implementation of these rules.

(2) The money received from the owner of the animals, as charges for maintenance, vaccination, ear tagging ctc.,shall be deposited unaer the revenue receipt head of the State Government.
9. Ammdmcnt to these rulcs.-lf required, the State Government may further amend or make new rules with the prior approval of the Central Government under. sub-section (I) of Section 43 of the Prevention and Control of lnfc(;tious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009 (No. 27 of2009).
