Section 23: Power to enter upon a land holding

(1) Such officers, servants and other persons as may be authorised by the Nigam or the State Government in this behalf, may at any time, after giving the land holder reasonable notice, enter upon his holding and carry out surveys and investigations and all such works and things as may be necessary in connection with the execution of the projects, scheme or work under this Act.

(2) The staff of the Nigam shall while acting or purporting to act in pursuance of any of the provisions of this Act be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of Section 21 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (No.

45 of 1860).
