In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- Definitions. ( a_) "Committee" means a Select Committee of the Legislative Assembly or a Committee consti tuted under the rules of procedure of the Legislative Assembly or a Committee appoint ed by the Speaker or the State Government and includei the statutory Boards and the Boards appointed by the State Government ;
(b) "Member" means a member or the Madhya Pra desh Legislative Assembly, but does not iilch,ide-

(ii) a Minister of State;

An Act further to amend the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Sadasya (Vetan, Bhatta Tatha Pension) Adhiniyam, 1972 (No. 7 of 1973), Be it enacted by the ChhattiSgarh Legislature in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- I. (l) This Act may be called the Cbhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Sadasya (Vetan, Bhatta Tatha Pension) (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2002 (No. 17 of 2002).
(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Gazette.
2. (I) In Section 4 (c) of the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Sadasya (Vetan, Bhatta Ta1ha Pension) Adhinjyam, 1972 (No. 7 of 1973) for the word "three hundred" the words "two hundred fifty" shall be substituted. 4. (I) This Act may be called the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Sadasya Vetan, Bhatta Tatha Pension (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 201 I.
(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. In sub-section (I) of Section 6-A of the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha Sadasya Vetan, Bhatta TatR.a Pension Adhiniyam, 1972 (No. 7 of 1973), (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act) for the words "Ten Thousand" the words "Sixteen lnousand" shall be substituted. In Section 6-B of the Principal Act, fer the words "five thousand" the words "Eight Thousand" shall be substituted. (2) (I) I This Act may be caJled the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha ~ya Vetan, Bhatta Tatha Pension (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2012: · · ' It shall come into force from the date of its. publication in the Official Gazette . In sub-section (1) and its first proviso of Section 5-A of the Chhattisgarb Vidhan Sabha Sadasya Vetan, Bhatta Tatha Pension Adhiniya, 1972 (No. 7 of 1973), ( hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act) for the words "Rs. Two Lac" the words "Rs. Three Lac" shall be substituted.
(2) In sub-section (2) of Section 5-A of the Principal Act, for the words "Rs. One Lac" the words "Rs. One Lac Fifty Thousand" shall be substituted. In the first proviso to sub-section ( I) of Section 6-A of the Principal Act, for the words "two hundred rupees" the words ''three hundred rupees" shall be substituted and after the words "in excess of five years" the words ''and if any person has served as aforesaid for a period exceeding ten years there shall be paid to him an additional pension of four hundred rupees per mensem for every year in excess of ten years and if any person has served as aforesaid for a period of more than fifteen years there shall be paid to him an additional pension of five hundred rupees per mensem for every year in excess of fifteen years:" shall be added. For Section 6-B of the Principal Act, the following Section shall be substituted, namely:- 'There shall be paid a pension of rupees ten thousand per mensem to the spouse, if any for life or to a dependent of a member or ex~member for a period of fifteen years from the date of his death."
