Section 13: Scrutiny of applications by Central Government

Citizenship Rule-2009Central Rules · 1955

The Central Government may,-

(a) on receipt of the applications from the State Government or the Union territory Administration, as the case may be, complete in all respects; and

(b) on being satisfied after making such inquiry as it considers necessary for ascertaining the suitability of the applicant, that he is a fit and proper person to be registered or naturalised, as the case may be, grant him the citizenship of India.
