Section 6: Liability for service

Coast Guard (Condition of Service) Rules, 1986Central Rules · 1978

(1) All officers are liable for service with any other Armed Force of the Union as may be directed by the Government. In selecting officers for such service, preference may be given to volunteers, but if the requisite number of suitable volunteers, is not forthcoming, officers may be detailed as for any other appointment.

(2) All officers are liable for service in any civil or other appointment whether in India or abroad as may be directed by the Central Government.
