Section 21: Authority for promotion

The recommendation for promotion/confirmation/extension of probationary period shall be made by the Departmental Promotion Committee. The Departmental Promotion Committee shall take into consideration the reservation, relaxation of age limit and other concession required javascript:void();

to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other specialist categories of persons in accordance with the order issued by the Government from time to time in this regard. Nomination of officers for Departmental Promotion Committee shall be by the respective Administrative Authorities as directed by the Coast Guard Headquarters. The Promotion/ confirmation/ extension of probationary period shall be intimated by the BUVIK after approval of the proceedings of the Departmental Promotion Committee by the Director- General.
