Section 13: Restrictions on use of personal information

Each agency engaged in collection of statistics shall take all reasonable measures to ensure that -

(a) personal information is protected against unauthorised access, disclosure or other misuse;

(b) the agency uses personal information only for the purpose of fulfilling its obligations under a specified contract;

(c) in case of repetitive statistical surveys with a common set of informants, the agency uses the personal information earlier collected only for the purpose of setting up interviews with or otherwise contacting informants;

and

(d) the agency uses personal information for data processing only with adequate security checks.
